Altha M. James, died about 2:00 o’clock Monday morning, December 23, 1929, while the outside world was wrapped in a heavy mantle of snow and the mercury was standing a few degrees above zero. The spirit of Miss Altha James left its earthly abode in the home of her brother, W. B. James and went back to God who gave it. For the last four months she had been in very poor health from cancer of the mouth, which affected her throat, stomach and other organs of the body. Audley BUFFINGTON, 40, died September 14, 1952 after he was attacked and stung several times about the head by a swarm of bees. Audley and Henry Cantrell had just finished cutting a wild honey tree near the Buffington home when the bees made the attack. Clarence G. COX, 62, died November 24, 1949 in Milledgeville, GA. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Cox Sr, he was born and reared in Gilmer County, Ellijay, GA. He attended North Georgia College and received his degree in medicine from the University of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta in 1912.
