Clarence G. COX, 62, died November 24, 1949 in Milledgeville, GA. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Cox Sr, he was born and reared in Gilmer County, Ellijay, GA. He attended North Georgia College and received his degree in medicine from the University of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta in 1912. He returned to Ellijay where he practiced until World War I, when he enlisted in the Medical Corps as Captain and was stationed in Virginia. Dr. Cox went with the State Hospital in 1923 as Clinical Director, where he remained until four years ago when he accepted a position with the Veterans Hospital in Dublin. At the time of his death he had just returned to Milledgeville to resume his old position. He is survived by his wife; daughters, Mrs. J. L. Rothery and Mrs. Z. S. Sikes; son, James C. Cox; brother, Dr. Manley Cox; sisters, Miss Pearl Cox, Mrs. Lillie Crawford, Mrs. Edith Williams, Miss Willie Cox and Mrs. J. T. Harland. Funeral services were held November 28, 1949 from the Baptist Church in Milledgeville. Interment was in Ellijay Cemetery in Gilmer County.
