Dessie Allen Tatum, 100, died August 24, 1955 in Gilmer County, East Ellijay, GA. Mrs. Tatum was a member of the East Ellijay Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Bramlett, Miss Nell Tatum and Mrs. Mamie Bishop; one son, Sam Tatum; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held August 26, 1955 at the Cartecay Methodist Church. Jack Ellington, 29, died March 27, 1941 at Camp Stewart near Savannah in Chatham County, GA. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Horace M. Ellington, Jack was born and reared in Gilmer County, Ellijay, GA. On February 22, 1941, he enlisted in the anti-aircraft division of the coast artillery and was sent to Camp Stewart near Savannah.
