According
to Victor Davidson's History of Wilkinson County, the church was
"organized by Rev. Thomas Harris.
Early pastors were A.
G. Thomas, L. Speedler, J. A. Oliver.
At first the church was
conducted at the home of its members but soon a church was built
on lands donated by James Jackson and Joel Deese. Land for the present
site of the church was provided by Judge W. F. Cannon."
