Victor Davidson in The History of Wilkinson County says the church
"was organized September 24 1906 by Revs. J. M. Kelly and A. B. Smith.
Original members: W.J. Hughes, Mrs. H. D. Hughes, Georgia Hughes,
Mamie Hughes, Mrs. G. C. Daniel, Mrs. Lizzie Cross.
Services
were held in the Christian and Methodist churches until the church was
built in 1922 In 1922 there were only 2 adult male members, H. E.
Stephens and Dr. A. D. Ware and these two managed the building, the house
being completed, painted and paid for in 1927.
The pastors
who have served this church are J.M. Kelly, W. O. Young, D. Albert Howard,
Fred C. Markert, Allen Cutts, Fred E. Smith, John W. Falkner, Dr. J. C.
Solomon, J. K. Williams, Hugh S. Wallace, Dr. A. I. Foster, C. E. McDaniel,
and E. W. Dupree."
Joseph Maddox
in Wilkinson County Georgia Historical Collections says the
"land for church given by Mrs. Hansford Hall, nee Mary Dixon."
