New Providence Baptist Church
Wilkinson County, Ga.
Jeffersonville Rd. Southwest, 1 mile from  Twiggs County line.
Organized 1811.

   Constituted by Elijah Hammock, Daniel Hooks, George Martin, Thomas Hughes, minister, Sarah Martin, Bethel Tutleton and Rachel Hooks, former members of Big Sandy Church.     Some of the families attending the church were Carswell, Burke, Collins.  Church history is available at Jack Tarver Library at Mercer University.

  In 1852 there were 73 members, 1 was saved that year..  American Baptist Register, for 1852 by John Lansing Burrows.
