Last Will and Testament of Miles Morgan Bloodworth

Wilkinson County) In the name of God amen:
I Miles M. Bloodworth of said State and County being of advanced age but of sound and disposing mind and knowing that I must die deem it right and proper that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind providence has blessed me I do therefore make this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and annulling all others herefore made by me.

Item 1st. I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and christian like manner suitable to my situation and circumstances in life my soul I trust shall return to God who gave it as I hope for eternal salvation through the merits and atonement of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Item 2nd. I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid as soon as practicable by my executors herein after named consistent with my estate.

Item 3rd. I will and direct that all my property both real personal of whatever kind and nature except as herein afore named shall be kept together and used to the best advantage for the support and maintenance of my wife and the support and education of such child or children as may be born to me and wife Susan until the youngest of said children shall arrive to the age of twenty one years or marry at which time I desire and direct that all my property and its increase be divided on the proceeds of said property share and share alike among each of my children then in life and the representative of children if any.

Item 4th. In the event that my wife should marry before my youngest child should arrive at the age or marry I direct that such control only be had by her as the law authorized for my children or property, if however my wife should live being single I desire and direct that she be allowed to choose fifty acres of land that if there is no house on said land then I direct such house be be build as will make her comfortable and expense paid out of my estate together with two cows and calves, ten head of hogs, such household and kitchen furniture as may be necessary for her comfort and at her death said land and other property so given and its increases to return to my estate and be divided among my children as before named.

Item 5th. I desire and direct that if after paying my debts and expenses of administration there should be any surplus of personal property or if at any time any surplus should accumulate from increase or otherwise not necessary for the comfort of the family or to keep up the plantation that the proceeds be divided among my children as before mention after being sold in accordance with law.

Item 6th. I hereby nominate and appoint my friend F. Chambers and my son James H. Bloodworth executors of this my last will and testament in our presence and signed by M. M. Bloodworth s/s

Signed sealed and delivered by Miles M. Bloodworth to be his last will and testament in our presence and signed by us as witness at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other this 10th day of April 1873
