This is also known as the Lord-McCook House.
This
house was built in 1898 by Joe Walker Lord
and his
wife, Josie Wright (she was a widow).
They lived
there until about 1902, then they moved
to Pelham,
Georgia. Paschal Othneil McCook moved
in and lived
there. Joseph Redric McCook moved
into the Tenant
House. In 1904, Joseph Redric McCook
bought the Lord
House and him and his father, Paschal Othneil
swapped
houses. Paschal moved into the Tenant
house and
Redric moved into the Lord House.
It has been in the
McCook family ever since. It is also
the location of
the McCook Family Reunion that has been
held there
annually since 1956. The Reunion is
held there on the
second sunday in April every year.
