Will of Frederic Dominey, Sr.

"In the name of God amen.  I, Frederic Dominey, Sr. of the State of Georgia, and the County of Wilkinson, being weak in body, but of presence and of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind that it is appointed for all men to die, I do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament. First of all, I recommend my soul into the hands of my Savior, an my body to the ground at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named and what is has pleased God to bestow upon me as to temporal things, I give and bequeath in the
following manner.
Item 1.  To my beloved wife, Elizabeth, one negro woman by the name of Ford and her two children, Sal and Peter, to be hers until her natural death together with all my stock, my stock of cattle, sheep and hogs, that is hers; one yoke of oxen and cart, one good feather bed and furniture, and my sorrel mare, together with the increase of the same together with one spinning wheel and trunk, chest and bedstead and cord, which at the death of my wife I wish to be equally divided between my three sons, Andrew, Fredrick and Josiah. Then the heirs and assigns, also one feather bed, furniture, bed stead and cord, between them.
Item 2.(?)  The residue of my proprty, to-wit: my land and plantation and the stock that is in Lee County under the care of John Haman and the residue of the property that is here, I request to be sold, my debts to be paid and the balance equally divided among all of my heirs forever.
Item 3.  I leave my son, Frederick and John Dominey Executors of this my last will and testament.  In witness, whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day of August 1829.

Additional notes
(1) Mr. Maddox has Frederic's wife's name: Elizabeth Jasper.
(2) Andrew md. Mary (Polly)Payne.
         Mary was the daughter of Ransome Payne, Sr., and Alcy (Elsie) Cauley Payne; she was the granddaughter Joseph Payne, Sr. and wife Mary Brassfield (?) Payne.  One can read her will--Mary Dominy, nee Payne, widow of Andrew Dominy.
(3)  The Payne family also resided in Laurens County, Georgia.


Will of Mary Dominy

Written: July 26 1848

In the name of God, amen.  I, Mary Dominy, of the State and County (of Wilkinson), being of sound mind and in memory knowing that I shall shortly depart from this world, deem it right and proper for both as it respects my children and myself, that I should make a distribution of the property which I am possessed, I therefore make this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me.
First.  I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christian-like manner, suitable to my circumstances, and my soul I trust shall return to rest with God who gave it, and I hope for eternal salvation through the blessed Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Item 2.  Number omitted.
Item 3.  I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter, Alsy Dominey, (married Greenberry Daniel), one bed and bedstead, with its furniture. The rest of my property or interest in property, both real and personal, whatever and wherever it might be including the portion of my deceased husband's estate to which I am entitled, I give and bequeath to my youngest child, THOMAS JASPER DOMINY, for him and his benefit forever.  And I desire and appoint my trust and worthy friend, James M. Howard guardian of the person and property of my said son, Thomas Jasper Dominy, after enough thereof to pay my just debts.
Sixth.  I give and bequeath to my sister, Frances Howard, one clock.
Seventh.  I constitute and appoint my friend, James M. Howard, Executor to this my last will and testament this 26th, day of July 1848.  Signed, sealed, declared and published by Mary Dominy as her last will and testament in the presence of us, the subscribers who subscribed our names hereon as to witnesses in the presence of the testatrix, one of each other, this 26th day of July 1848.

2.  Mary Dominy was the widow of Andrew Dominy, son of Frederic Dominy, Sr. and
wife Elizabeth Jasper? Dominy. She was called both Mary & (Polly). Mary was the
 daughter of Ransome Payne, Sr., and Elsy (Elsie) Cauley Payne; granddaughter of
Joseph and Mary (Brassfield?) Payne
3.  Her sister, Frances (same lineage as above), married James M. Howard.  They
lived briefly in Wilkinson County then moved to Laurens County, Georgia.
