MRS ATHLIA COLLINS

Mrs. Athlia Collins, widow of the late W. A. Collins and a resident of Sumter County for forty years, died at her home on Saturday night, February 3rd.  She suffered a stroke of paralysis about two months ago and had been confined to her bed since then.

The funeral services were held at Allen's Funeral Home at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. J. R. Hill in charge.  Following the services, the body was followed by a concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends to the Bushnell cemetery.

Mrs. Collins was born in Wilkinson county, near Irvington, GA, March 16, 1857, married William Allen Collins, Jan. 28, 1883.  To this union there were given two girls and two boys, all but one of whom God saw fit to call in infancy:  R. F. Collins, who survives.  Other survivors are:  a brother, Isaac Hall of Kissimmee; 4 grandchildren, Mrs. Ethel Luffman of Sparr, Ralph Jr., of Lakeland, Louise and Mary Kathryn of Bushnell; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Collins with her family moved to Bushnell forty years ago and has lived here since that time.  When a young girl she gave her heart and life to God and united with the Methodist church continuing as a faithful member through life.  She was a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 10, Bushnell, and a faithful member of the Missionary Society, with one circle now bearing her name.

She will be greatly missed.
