Co. C Man Is Cited For His Gallantry
Irwinton, Aug. 20 - Private Robert Nelson, of Wilkinson county, member of  Company C, 151st Machine Gun Battalion now in France, has been recently been cited for gallantry. The honor has been done Mr. Nelson on account of his brave action under exposure of heavy shell fire while acting lookout guard.

LOCAL
Brigidier General Julian R. Lindsay
was the commander of Fort Knox and the Fifth Corps Area when he retired in 1934. He served 45 years in the army after receiving his appointment to West Point in 1888. In World War 1 he was  the Brig. General in the 164th Brigade Infantry, 82nd Division and was cited for meritorius service for leading a sucessful attack in the Argonne and received the Distinquished Service Medal. He was the son of John W. and Julia F. Lindsay of Wilkinson County.
