Remarks from page 1 & 2: There are a few Chalybeate Springs of water, - generally __hard water. Fine specimens of agate, amethyst, opal, carnelian, chalcedony and geist. Superior granite for building purposes. Lower half of county deciduous with pine woods - upper half of metamorphous valley enriched by the decomposition of geness, hornblende, schism, mica, slate and other felsphatic  rocks. Some beds of green sand, a great fertilizer. A great ridge divides the county and separates the secondary valley from the tertiary region of Georgia. On the large water courses autumrical fever fevers prevail caused by malaria. No other emdemics and epidemics are rare.
